Because the kittens are now growing up fast, the kitten socialization window is quickly closing and I’m determined to have a happy mixed (cat and dog) household. I therefore started separating the kittens and introducing them one by one to our dogs. The nursing cat does not seem to mind when I extract a kitten at a time, so it’s simple enough. The kittens are acting according to their personality. The most socialized is the tuxedo kitten that goes by the kitten names of: Marilyn, Trouble, Manson, and Charlie LOL

A big part of getting the kittens socialized is allowing them to explore at their pace. In the kitten pictures above, you can clearly see the tuxedo kitten happily exploring his surroundings, including the chiweenie. It’s the chiweenie that is afraid of the kitten.
The Crazy Cat Lady
Ok, no matter what name you use he is a cutie! But oh, poor Frankie – she looks so uncomfortable. I wish she was calmer around non-dogs (yeah, we saw the goat pics) and wouldn’t get scared – I feel bad for her because the kittens just want to make friends. And don’t worry – your window isn’t really closing as fast as you think, because even older cats can be socalized to others with enough patience and time (sure, I am still waiting at my house for them all to make one bit snuggle pile – but they all tolerate each other at least – even Lola tolerates them – she just gets her frustration out by peeing on my bed instead of on the other cats).
